in april I participated in a video exhibition, LUDI CINEMA 3* watch it!me, curated by my friends Elmer Blåvarg and Theodor Öhrn. a lot of artists, i think it was over 50 local and international artists were invited to make a video no shorter than and no longer than 1 minute and all the works were then screened in succession on the 11th of april in Bio Aspen. it was really nice!
The project was a riff on ARKIPELAG TV (1998): a series of one minute long video works by different artists broadcasted on Swedish television. I remember last year, Elmer and Theo had found like a dvd or something with the original project from 1998 at Mejan (royal institute of art in stockholm) and somehow digitalized the file so they had it on their computers, and Theo sent it and I watched the 1 minute videos from different artists. And then he told me about this idea of making a new version of the project. What is really cool is that Pippilotti Rist, who is one of my favourite artists, participated in 98 with a video work, which was the one I liked the best, it was really blue and green and she was lying naked on the ground and it was raining.
i really liked the format, that it had to be exactly 60 seconds and also that it was a kind of short deadline, it was chill. I was kind of busy because it was in the last weeks of working on my degree project, so I did everything on one day, the last day before the deadline. it was fun and i couldnt stop laughing at Nils when I was filming him bc he is so funny
